Abbi Carmody at CK Science is recruiting for an Experienced Site Chemist to join a specialist waste company at their site based in Cannock on a permanent basis.

The Company:
Our client offers specialist advice and next-generation capability in Total Waste Management, across a range of sectors, with expert teams dedicated to understanding the unique challenges facing each particular environment. Our client operates across the whole of the UK, and focus on Total Waste Management and deliver recycling, recovery, treatment, and disposal for all types of waste.

Location:
This role is located Cannock. The site is easily commutable from Stoke on Trent and Birmingham.

The Role:
Working in conjunction with Site Management to safely deliver the throughput of waste in the Transfer Station. Primary role of Inspection Chemist to ensure compliance with pre-acceptance criteria, supporting Site Operatives with movement, storage and segregation of waste alongside other general operational responsibilities. Occasional support on customers site to list or prepare outgoing loads (once experienced).

Your main duties will be:
- Processing incoming loads.
- Stock control as set out by PPC Permit.
- Arranging outgoing loads.
- Manage all relevant paperwork.
- Daily inspections, logs and signage in the Transfer Station.
- Liaising with other Chemists and Operatives with waste management.
- Ensuring general housekeeping is maintained on a regular basis.
- Preparing, loading and unloading incoming and outgoing loads.
- Packing and identifying wastes on customers sites.
- Adhering to Company Policies and Procedures.
- Working with all regulations set out by the HSE, EA and any other regulatory board.

Your Background:
- Working knowledge of the waste management industry.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with people at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to plan and achieve own workload.
- Ability to adapt to using waste software systems.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- HNC Chemistry (or suitable variant).
- Driving License.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck (training will be provided).
