An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant Manager to work for a well-established company in Birmingham area. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to help develop their already thriving business both in terms of the payroll department and their clients.


* Assistant to the Payroll Manager with the ability to run the payroll with basic assistance -i.e. able to step in and Run the Payroll in the event of the Payroll Manager being absent (Rare)

* Use of Sage an advantage but not essential.

* Load the Main Payroll File - SAGE Extract and scrutinise the data to ensure no duplicates, no excessive hours or cash amounts, removing temp numbers for smooth load into SAGE Payroll

* Good knowledge of Excel and spreadsheets to run the Monthly Holiday Pivot Table and sense check data against source data and check again once loaded into SAGE

* Can do attitude - Think on their Feet in stressful situations and come up with best resolution.

* Pro Active Approach to the Job

* Consistently bringing forward Payroll Improvements ideas for smoother running of the payroll.

* Set up of All Joiners and checks for compliance to Right to Work and accurate set up on SAGE.

* Input Leavers, Holiday Calculation, DBS deductions where stated.

* Sending P45's out to home addresses ensuing correct leave dates against company Leavers form.

* Completing EQ1 Forms for agreed times with DWP

* Completing SMP1 Forms and SSP1 Forms for below average earners.

* Checking the Payroll Inbox for all types of general questions from Senior Management to Cleaners within the agreed 48hoursSLA set.

* Completion of References for current staff and Leavers within agreed time frame.

* TUPE Request completion within 48hrsSLA.
