1st Line Helpdesk Technician - Windows OS, Mac, O365, AD

Burton On Trent, Derbyshire. Commutable via Sutton Coldfield, Litchfield, Tamworth, Derby, Ashbourne and Stafford. Semi-Rural location so must have own transport.

Leading large Business Services Company requires further Help desk technician with a keen aptitude for problem solving, and IT tech who is be able to quickly get to the root of a problem, and either resolve it or escalate to a specialist.

The Role:

Recording all incoming support requests received into the request ticketing system

Obtaining all key information relating to the query to enable effective request investigation

Assign requests to the relevant member of the team to enable progression of the request

Solving typical first line PC. mac and MS Office based issues for end users

Progress all requests through to resolution, ensuring the customer is kept informed of request progress

Track request progress to ensure that unresolved requests are escalated in accordance with the established escalation guidelines

Record all communication relating to the request and update documentation - through to closure

Required skills:

Previous experience of working within an end user IT Service/Help-desk or application support environment is preferred - pay scale relates to a few months up to 18 commercial months experience

Good knowledge of Windows Desktop OS

Good knowledge of typical office application software - MS Office in particular

A working understanding of enterprise networks and security

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent diagnostic skills

Flexibility - able to take ownership of requests to ensure timely responses to customers

Planning and organising: able to prioritise daily workload effectively and proactively

Confidence in dealing with challenging situations, and the ability to work under pressure

Self-motivated: able to use own initiative, working effectively in a team and alone

Desirable:

Previous experience of working within a busy customer-focused environment

Mac OS support

Office 365 support

Active Directory (AD) support
