An exciting opportunity not to be missed! City of Wolverhampton College is looking for a Sports and Fitness Coach (Personal Training) to join our team based across our College Campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis working 21 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP19,829.40 annum.

The Sports and Fitness Coach (Personal Training) role:

You will deliver excellent learning experiences and opportunities for our students over a range of programmes on our premises or as requested by the Employer. Leading on the recruitment, retention and achievement of students and contribute towards the pastoral care of students you'll also contribute to the added value via enrichment activities.

Key responsibilities of the Sports and Fitness Coach (Personal Training):

- Be prepared for every lesson and ensure planning is visible in every lesson (5-minute planner)

- Enforce the student code of conduct, set expectations and challenge appropriately

- Provide good quality learning resources to meet individual needs, ensure they are available in class and on the College VLE

- Ensure that a fully completed scheme of work in place prior to the start of the course and is available on the College VLE

- Ensure that a full lesson plan is available when required for lesson observations

- Ensure that the guided learning outside the classroom is structured and meaningful

- Ensure that opportunities to highlight equality, diversity and personal safety are encouraged in class

- Work within the Lesson Observation scheme and aim to deliver good or better teaching at all times.

- Use ProMonitor/Markbook to set and monitor targets and record assessment for all learners

- Set work regularly and mark all assessments in a timely manner

- Give all learners oral and written feedback they can understand that will develop their skills and performance

- Keep up to date with subject specialisms, awarding body requirements and act upon changes

- Report safeguarding incidents to the designated lead or school safeguarding champion as appropriate

Experience and skills required of our Sports and Fitness Coach (Personal Training):

Essential

- Teaching Qualification i.e. DTLLS, Cert Ed., or PGCE or currently working towards.

- English and Maths GCSE Grade C qualification/hold Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent or prepared to work towards it

- An appropriate level of qualification in the subject area

- Suitable experience and/or the capacity to design and deliver teaching and learning or training

- Experience, subject specialism and relevant qualifications in the subject/vocational area

- Experience of delivering to Awarding Body standards including marking and assessment work

Desirable

- Relevant qualification the level of above the level that is being taught

- Experience across different Awarding Bodies, setting up new programmes

- Assessor and/or IV qualified

- Ability to move between sites in a timely manner

- Able to obtain a clean DBS approval
