Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:

Manufacturing Engineering

Position Description:

An opportunity for a high calibre and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering team as a Senior Process Engineer. The team is developing to support future engine developments for the complete range of client vehicles. You will be responsible for developing new, technologically advanced powertrain assembly facilities to support the client global powertrain initiatives.

Skills Required:
3 key skills required
- Experience in specifying, delivering and launching assembly line facilities and in-line test equipment (automated assembly cells, rundown machines, manual workstations)
- Project management experience of delivering new or modified equipment into a production facility.
- Engineering qualification - HNC or above. Preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

Skills Preferred:
- Planning, developing and implementation of assembly and test processes and facilities.
- Provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements.
- Ensure robust process quality planning including build simulations and FMEAs
- Support virtual build events raising and championing issues where appropriate.

Experience Required:
- Support of physical builds at workshop, pilot build and Manufacturing Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
- Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier Request for Quotations.
- Assembly process & equipment verification at suppliers and at home manufacturing facility.
- Support management activities through development and ownership of timing plans.
- Support new model planning through development of process estimates against study requests

Experience Preferred:
- Good IT skills and awareness of Process Authoring Tool (GSPAS), simulation and virtual toolsets i.e. Digital-buck, Process Designer, Process Simulate and CATIA V5, Byteworx and Sciemetric Qualityworx
- Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project).
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of in-process test equipment, Dyno facilities, Hot run cells, Cold testing and ability to analyse and interpret performance data output from those facilities.

Education Required:
- Previous experience of facility Installation, commissioning and product Launch.
- Good Understanding of process capability & ability to use Q-DAS software.
- Ideally, educated to Degree level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline. Candidates with HNC / HND and the relevant experience would be considered.

Additional Information:
Foreign languages are also an advantage, German, Italian or Chinese.
Support required across multiple client Midlands sites where required.
