Description
Required to join the Fusion Joint Venture working on HS2 enabling works, to provide subject matter expertise, ensuring the continuous improvement to environmental performance.

You will work closely with the Fusion environment, HS2 environment and Fusion package management to ensure compliance with HS2's Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMR) and Fusion's Environmental Management Plan.

Your key activities will include:
  • Direct environmental support to Sector Leads in assuring the delivery of sector work packages.
  • Assist the Environment and Sustainability Manager and support the team of advisors, and monitor and review performance across Fusion in line with requirements.
  • Assist the Sector Environmental Manager and Environment and Sustainability Manager and wider environmental team to monitor, review and improve performance across Fusion in line with requirements.
  • Deliver environmental advice and guidance to minimise risk to the project.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of environmental documentation required.
  • Lead and undertake inspections, audits and investigations where required, reporting on, and implementing lessons learned and improvements to ensure compliance with EMRs and other requirements.
  • Identify and promote best practice across the business unit and share lessons learnt.
  • Represent Fusion at occasional external meetings and public events.


Job Requirements
Your qualifications, skills and experience should include:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject matter.
  • PIEMA with a longer term aim to work to Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) / MIEMA.
  • Recognised internal auditing qualifications.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate strategy, values and objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management System and its implementation.
  • Thorough knowledge of HS2 Environmental Minimum Requirements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment contributing across the project.
  • Good supervision skills, with the ability to motivate self and small teams to perform specific tasks.
  • Good level of written and oral presentation skills.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to contribute to meeting standards and specifications.
  • Sound knowledge of construction practises and standards.
