An alternative provision in Walsall is looking for an experienced Science Teacher to join them on a long-term basis. This role is a full teaching role, full-time (5 days a week + planning) and is ongoing long-term. There is no definitive end date as you will be covering long-term sickness.

The school is a specialist provision for pupils KS3-KS5 who have been excluded from mainstream education, with most having EHCPs for SEMH and/or multiple learning difficulties. You must therefore have previous experience of working in a challenging setting, or be able to demonstrate your ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive way.

As this role is a full teaching role, you will be expected to both plan and deliver engaging lessons, and mark and assess pupil work. There are classes for both functional skills and full Science GCSE, so you will ideally have experience teaching both, but definitely experience teaching Science at GCSE level.

Although pupil behaviour is challenging, the school environment is a supportive one with an outstanding SLT and a dedicated staff team across teaching and support.

Please call ASAP for more information as this role is to start straight away.

Key Responsibilities:

* Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons to both functional skills and GCSE classes
* Managing behaviour effectively and positively
* Working as part of the staff team to promote academic and social development

Required Skills & Experience:

* ESSENTIAL - Teaching qualification
* ESSENTIAL - Experience teaching Science GCSE
* ESSENTIAL - A "team player" attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work
* DESIRED - Experience within a challenging school setting

The Milk Difference:

* Excellent rates of pay.
* Direct links to local schools.
* Dedicated Consultants who will cater for your employment needs with 24/7 availability.
* Commitment to quality and safeguarding.
* 24/7 support for interview and lesson observation preparation.
