You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor with a company turnover approaching circa GBP300m (Group T/O GBP500m+). As a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business.

They have an amass of capability and deliver under pressure and to high standards time and time again which has led to them being so successful in recent years and winning new business seeing significant growth throughout the business. They are now looking to add an experienced rail Project Manager to work on independent projects such as bridge works (demolition, refurbishment, construction and upgrades), embankments, large scale geotechnical and earthworks, flood alleviations schemes and station improvements to name a few.

As Project Manager you will have single point responsibility and accountability for the successful execution of multiple projects in terms of quality of work, maintenance of schedule, budget and profit margins, and client satisfaction from commencement to close-out. To give you an idea of what you could be expecting to do day-to-day;

Monitor and control of project performance against budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements using appropriate control tools and reporting to both the senior management team and the client
Identify changes in the scope of work and ensure that changes are current and adequate as well as being communicated well to all stakeholders involved
Prepare early warning and change instruction documentation
Plan and arrange visits to existing and new potential clients, ensuring every client receives sufficient support to enhance their relationships
Co-ordinate required support levels and training whilst reporting project process

This business works a 39-hour week which is a benefit as I know in the Rail business some people feel as if they are working night and day 24/7!


- Basic salary of between GBP58,000 and GBP64,000 per annum
