Job purpose:
Working out of our Flagship Rugby Hub, the role of our Hub Transport Planning Manager is to manage an experienced planning team to produce daily transport plans for the operations teams to execute. The plans are advanced, and contain collections, deliveries, interhub trunking and reverse loads. The plans need to consider operational resourcing and service needs. The team will also be responsible for amending the transport plans through direct communication with the clients and hub transport teams.

About the Role:
Our Transport Planning Manage is a key role in our planning and operations department. You will report in to our General Manager - Operational Planning and manage a team of 7 Planners. Your team will formulate the daily trunk schedule and communicate it to the relevant departments within the organization. Live and retrospective report generation and KPI development will be key to understanding operational progress and plan vs actuals. As the Planning Manager you will oversee all MI and trunking plans generated by your team and you will work towards more effective ways of working and pushing for efficient use of our trailer fleet.

You will manage all tasks relevant to trunking - host conf calls with Depots and clients who are the receiver or the trunking. The individual will need to be positive confident with analysis and a strong communicator. The key stakeholder you will need to manage will be all Site General Managers and heads of operations. You will need to influence through the use of statistics the correct plan for the network.

Team Management experience
Experience of Developing, prioritising and assigning workloads
Strong Analytical and excel capability
Confident in challenging stakeholders and public relations
Experience of using Paragon planning system for either routing or solution design Engineering
Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain clear focus upon priorities
