My client is a high profile global leader in industrial packaging products and services and is pursuing its vision to become the world's best performing customer service company in industrial packaging.

The company produces steel, plastic and fibre drums, intermediate bulk containers, reconditioned containers, flexible products, containerboard, uncoated recycled paperboard, coated recycled paperboard, tubes and cores and a diverse mix of specialty products.

The company also manufactures packaging accessories and provides filling, packaging and other services for a wide range of industries. They also manage timber properties in the south eastern United States. My client is strategically positioned with 290 operating locations in 43 countries to serve global as well as regional customers so there is plenty of scope for a long term job providing excellent opportunities and career progression.

Currently my client is seeking an experienced and tenacious Die Setter to join their dynamic team at their Burton manufacturing site. You will be required to work in a busy, fast moving and exciting environment as part of a team.

Die Setter duties:
The successful Die Setter will be carrying out preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring the highest levels of equipment availability. There are requirements to apply continuous improvement techniques whilst actively seeking to improve Mean Time Between Failure and Mean Time To Repair thus maximising plant up-time to meet and where possible exceed business targets.

To be successful you will be self motivated, ambitious and willing to work hard to achieve all agreed objectives and KPI's alongside your team members.

Die Setter achievements are delivered through:
• Attending and repairing press tooling
• Carrying out preventive maintenance tasks
• Ensuring RCPS techniques are being used following all plant breakdowns
• Assisting with identification of OEE losses/breakdowns, thus establishing and closing out corrective action plans to improve efficiency
• Update PPM schedules where required
• Effectively maintain individual area of plant responsibility, to include shadow boards and spare parts availability
• Constant focus on continuous improvement across all areas of plant performance
• Effective proving of equipment following all and any maintenance
• Assist production teams to achieve the required levels of output
• Adherence to the Greif UK Safety, Health and Environmental (S, H&E) Policy, in particular, section 2.1.2 (S, H&E committee members only), and 2.1.6 Employees
• Involvement in two Kaizen events per annum
• Complete any other reasonable tasks or requests as required, in order to meet KPIs.

Die Setter Qualifications:
• R.O.S.P.A. Power Press Safety Training
• Lock Out Tag Out Training
• Basic Health and Safety Training.

Die Setter Experience and Skills Required:
• Understanding Total Preventative Maintenance techniques, to include FMEA and condition monitoring
• Lean knowledge i.e. Kanban, SMED and knowledge of PPM systems
• Literate, numerate and computer literate , able to operate maintenance system.

Die Setter Personal Qualities:
• Ability to prioritise tasks and workload whilst working under pressure
• Work as part of a team as well as alone using your own initiative
• Excellent communication skills
• Good business acumen and understanding of the business needs and the impact that the person can make upon it

• Tenacity, resilience, a positive disposition, a can do attitude, assertiveness and a high degree of determination to succeed.

Working Hours : 6.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday

Remuneration : GBP25K to GBP26K dependent upon your level of experience and qualifications
