As a Buying Analyst you will bring your experience of the grocery retail industry to deep dive into market data, and provide high level insight to senior management and the buying teams to deliver competitive advantage. Your recommendations and ideas will help shape department strategies to maintain our success. We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. And to keep on top of that wave, our buying teams have to do something pretty special to keep our customers coming back for more. Buying Analyst - Specials We are now looking to recruit an Analyst to join our Specials Buying team, based at our Corporate Head Office in Atherstone. Working as part of a growing team you will utilise market data to support senior management strategy decisions. Responsibilities will include: - Managing the Specials Price Change Model, performing weekly data extracts as well as making recommendations on products to reduce and corresponding reduced retails - Conduct detailed analysis and scenario planning of Specials price change and ordering, providing strategic recommendations to the Specials Manager - Drive, support and provide strategy related to Specials analysis - Produce timely and accurate business forecasts, plans analysis and recommendations to enable the Specials team to make decisions based on key drivers - Identify, assess and monitor additional information / data which could be used in decision making, planning and forecasting - Assist the Specials Manager in the reporting and analysis of Specials - Assist the Specials Team in analysing and documenting business requirements for processes systems - Prepare specials discussions which develop the sales and profitability of the business, taking into account commercial considerations - Provide assistance to the Specials Manager on existing and future Specials projects Key requirements: - GCSE Maths grade B minimum (or equivalent) - Advanced level Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills - Ability to take complex information and deliver in a simplified manner across multiple business levels - Experience of preparing executive level recommendations and reports - Experience working within a team environment - Strategic and critical thinker that is results orientated and data driven - Ideally previous experience in Analytical work
