Senior IT Support Technician / Infrastructure Engineer

We're looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Wolverhampton based client as a Senior IT Technician / Infrastructure Engineer

The business has a rapidly expanding IT infrastructure, both in their Wolverhampton based head office and their data-centre operations. You will be responsible for the IT & Communications infrastructure, including all software/hardware, PC's, servers and various mobile devices. The role will be a combination of practical hands on responsibilities and management, ensuring downtime is avoided.

This role will involve supporting with all aspects of the business' IT requirements, including the set up and repair of workstations, server administration and key application support.

Key responsibilities:

* Provide a senior point of contact for the IT team, taking responsibility for IT project implementation

* Identifying the root cause of issues and providing adequate resolutions

* Deploy new equipment, including laptops, company mobile phones and workstations

* Manage the software update process

* Maintain the company's IT infrastructure

* Ensure all support requests and issues are recorded and progressed correctly

* Carry out modifications on existing infrastructure as required

* Monitor feedback and identify areas for improvement

* Be involved in improvement projects, including the creation and build of servers

* Assist and support other members of the support team

Essential Skills:

* Previous IT technical experience, ideally within a similar role

* Strong communication skills

* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage IT projects

* Leadership qualities and the ability to develop team members

* Problem solving skills

* Knowledge of latest MS Office suite, MS Windows server, Dynamics/CRM, Office365, Networks and network technology, Firewall, Anti Virus, VM Ware, Netapp SANs, InTune, Backup/DR software, IP Phone System, Google, Service Management techniques and ITIL Service management

Hours of work are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 31 days annual leave. Own transport is required
