Job Purpose

  • Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, you will carry out the effective procurement of materials and services in support of Direct spend categories but with flexibility to support the broader procurement business needs.
  • You will be joining our strategic central procurement hub during a period of transformation as we move closer to our strategy "One Procurement" and will have the opportunity to really make your mark.
  • We are looking for someone from a soft services background.
  • Tactical management of categories to ensure delivery of objectives defined by Procurement Manager.
  • Ensuring that all buying activities are carried out in accordance with procurement processes and working with business units to resolve compliance issues.
  • Identifying any opportunity to continually improve processes to ensure lean, effective procurement process supporting operations.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance to Preferred Supplier Agreements.
  • Responsible for conducting RFQ and tender process through to negotiating with suppliers and drafting contracts.
  • Monitor and managing supplier performance in accordance with agreed KPI's.
  • Ensuring rebates are tracked, reported and collected in a timely manner (Dependant on contract).
  • Carrying out key supplier reviews in accordance with the latest forms and guidance.
  • Continually reviewing sustainability profile of the key suppliers and products to ensure the principals of sustainable procurement are applied by the buying team wherever possible.
  • Establishing strong links with operational teams and continually improving the procurement service provided. Attending operational meetings and visiting sites as and when required.

  • The role holder will need to be an excellent communicator across a varied audience both internally and with third party suppliers. Developing relationships across the operational business and with national suppliers is key to the success of the role.
