Remuneration: Up to GBP40,000 (Neg.) + up to GBP15,000 Commission

The role of the Area Sales Manager - Domestic Boilers will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a high end range of domestic boilers
  • 80% of your time targeting independent plumbing & heating contractors/ installers
  • 20% of your time managing approx. 50 plumbing & heating merchants
  • Managing relationships with approx 30 national plumbers merchants such as Graham Plumbers Merchant, Wolseley, Travis Perkins and most significantly Plumbase
  • Managing approx 20 independent plumbers merchants such as Huws Gray
  • 70% new business development, focusing on switch selling plumbers merchants from competitor boiler manufactures
  • 30% account management
  • You will be tasked with selling circa 3,000 boilers units per annum (approx GBP1,000 per unit)
  • Inhering an underperforming area, currently running at circa 60% of budget, this is a genuine "hero job", enabling you to make a real name for yourself within our client
  • Approx six customer visits per day, couple of days a month administration from home
  • Running the area like it is your own business, you will be responsible for control of budget, expenses, client entertainment etc
  • Reporting on CRM system, loading your call planner one week in advance

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Domestic Boilers with:

  • 12 months+ proven track record in field sales and territory management
  • Must have sold to contractors / installers and fulfilled through merchants and distribution
  • Ideally from the plumbing and heating industry
  • Our client is open to a plumbers merchant or builders merchant background (as well as a manufacturer)
  • Boiler knowledge is not essential
  • Dedicated new business hunter with a strong character
  • Autonomous in approach
  • Good solid work ethic and 'get up and go'
  • Trustworthy and self motivated
  • Resilient character, this is a tough opportunity
