Salary GBP20,942 - GBP23,208 PLUS enhanced overtime rate PLUS GBP1k welcome payment
This role includes you supporting children and young persons who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). You will be required to work 10 shifts per month (24hour shifts including sleep ins).
Requirements for the role -
  • Must be 21 years of age or over (client has claimed an exemption under the equality act 2010)
  • Hold a full, valid manual driving licence
  • Must have a Level 3 QCF or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care with Young People's Workforce or Caring for Children and Young People.
  • 12 months experience working with children and young people who challenge

About the role briefly -
  • To be responsible to the Home Manager as a member of the staff team for the direct day to day care of the children and young people and other support tasks and duties
  • To provide primary basic care and a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help the child progress
  • To work with consistent boundaries in order to create safety for the children and young people.
  • To engage, communicate, talk and listen to the children and young people. To observe their behaviour and record significant features.
  • To use reactive strategies to support the behaviour of children and young people who are unable to manage their own behaviour.
  • To work with children and young people and their prospective carers to ensure the child's successful integration into a family when placed.
  • To be a key carer of a child or young person where designated.
