Our client is a market leading foodservice provider responsible for supplying over 60,000 customers throughout the UK across multiple channels that range from independent businesses, hotels, pubs, restaurants through to education, local authorities, and the NHS.

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to apply for the position of a Key Account Manager to run one of the most successful and profitable account bases and territories in the business.

The successful applicant will be responsible for a sales portfolio circa GBP5M generated from over 25 Accounts made up of large spending hotel chains, education sector, NHS and pub groups across the region. These accounts purchase through buying groups/consortia so the role is two-fold in respect to managing the end users pulling sales through whilst maintaining and developing the relationship with the buying groups to drive revenue and growth.

Using your innovative and commercial skills you will work closely with senior management, buyers, procurement and other senior stakeholders within the accounts to drive and grow the account base. The role will be split 80% Account management and 20% New Business.

Your performance will be in line with agreed company KPI's including sales, margin, items, margin per item, customer retention and most importantly customer growth. You will have a successful track record of growing large spending accounts, adding value, embedding processes and being seen as an adviser to each business, working with them to achieve their short, medium and long term growth plans.

You will have knowledge of food service market, buying groups, driving sales with a consultative approach and have excellent communication and presentation skills. You will be analytical with commercial acumen and IT literate.

The Package

There is a very competitive basic salary of GBP36,000 with an extremely achievable first year OTE of GBP12,000. In addition you will receive a company car, mobile, private healthcare, pension, 25 days holiday.
