The Company

There couldn't be a more exciting time to join this FMCG organisation in Herefordshire.

This role is an integral part of the Business Unit responsible for the financial control, commercial insight, management reporting and budgeting and forecasting through the Supply Chains. This role acts as a key business partner to the General Manager - Operations and General Sales Manager.

The Opportunity
  • Lead the teams through development of financial control processes, systems and people to deliver management information that supports operations planning and promotes performance improvement.
  • Customer facing Finance role for a key customer, with quarterly meetings as a minimum at both the Customer H/O and Site and routine interaction with the Customer Buyer.
  • Provide Commercial Insight and drive decision support to the General Sales Managers and Sales Team through targeted product costings, owning customer and product profitability analysis and evaluating and modelling pricing strategies for contracts / tenders.
  • Own the Management Reporting for the Supply Chains for use in both Business Units and in consolidated reporting.
  • Act as a key lead in the Supply Chain team in optimising and maximising the margin from the Supply Chain.
  • Use the S&OP processes to drive long term model forecasts (+12 months) for Supply Chain profitability outturns for business decision making.
  • Work with General Manager - in evaluating potential operational projects and supporting strategic changes across the Business Units and operational sites.
  • Work across the Site Operational teams in driving initiatives, performance improvements and identifying cost saving opportunities.
  • Lead, manage and coach the departmental personnel to ensure they work to optimum performance levels and standards. Recruit, develop, appraise and motivate the team.

Personal Profile

  • ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified with 3 - 5 years PQE, preferable gained within an FMCG environment
  • Has worked in an influencing role shaping business decision making and has strong commercial awareness
  • Understanding of management information required in a manufacturing environment
  • Conversant and comfortable with information technology including integrated ERP systems, systems design and implementation.
  • Able to work effectively in a matrix structure managing a team with responsibilities to both Group and location and able to strike appropriate balance between the two.
