Smile Leadership are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher who specialises in working within SEN schools and is based or is willing to travel to Birmingham, West Midlands.

We are currently representing a large ASD/ASC setting who require an assistant headteacher from around November 2019 to cover a period of maternity. The post is full time and will be for a 3 to 6 month period, with the possibility of extension.

This large, specialist setting offers primary places for pupils with the full range of autistic spectrum conditions. The staff and children promote and practice British values across the curriculum and pupils will usually require augmented and modified curriculum opportunities. The school underpins all of its curriculum delivery through continually developing its communication work so that pupils may access their learning in a way personalised to their needs. The school is part of a wider network who have received many accolades that reflect their commitment to high quality education.

To be successful in your application for this post, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• Leadership experience as an Assistant Headteacher within a large specialist SEN setting
• Experience teaching the primary age range
• Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils with ASD/ASC
