Contracts Manager

Salary dependant on experience, to be negotiated.  Company Car, Fuel Card and phone

Job Purpose

This innovative Architectural metalwork company are leading the way with their designs and installations of staircases.  They have full order books going through to December 2020 and due to an internal promotion they are now looking for an experienced Contracts Manager

Key Relationships

Company Directors, operations manager, drawing office manager, main contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Job Role

Typical day to day responsibilities of the Contracts manager include:

  • Financial monitoring and control of the contracts, ensuring health, safety, environmental and quality compliance is maintained
  • Allocate HS&E responsibilities and duties for site personnel, producing risk assessments and method statements for site installations
  • Manage construction sites and sub-contractors
  • Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to
  • deliver the scheme without delays
  • Ensure procurement and reconciliation of materials is carried out
  • Attend tender handover meetings and pre-start meetings on site.
  • Deliver projects without safety incidents, within time and to budget
  • Many of their prestigious projects are based in London so you may be required there a couple of times a week

Candidate

  • Working as a site, project or Contract or Programme manager within architectural metalwork / steelwork / construction sectors
  • Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management,
  • programme and risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and
  • value reporting
  • Knowledge of the NEC contract including the Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS card
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to influence and mentor
  • Problem solving skills and analytical thinking
