As a rapidly growing manufacturing business, our client is a market leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and service of an innovative range of AGV and automated equipment for a prestigious and diverse portfolio of manufacturing customers.
Keen to build upon their considerable investment in new products and capitalise on significant new market opportunities they are looking to appoint a high calibre and technical Business Development Manager to further develop their routes to market and lead them through a period of tremendous change, opportunity and growth in the UK. Your key task will be to identify and secure new business opportunities and new sectors and deliver innovative tailored bids/solutions that demonstrate substantial ROI and meet demanding customer requirements. Key responsibilities will be:
- Drive and develop the UK sales strategy with particular emphasis on pricing, product range and routes to market, based on your close monitoring of customer feedback, market developments, competitor activity and regulatory requirements.
- Business development to identify and pursue new business opportunities with manufacturers inside and outside of existing markets
- Partner with blue chip manufacturing companies in the Midlands and across the UK
- Understand customer requirements and promote technical product solutions
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will have full responsibility of the business plan for the UK market. Key tasks will include: develop and grow customers in the region, introduce best practice, and deliver a programme of organisational and cultural change. You will develop and implement the company's commercial strategy, identify and prioritise new business opportunities and take their innovative products and services to market. You will be very technical and hands on and manage automation projects from start to after sales.
This is a role of extraordinary scope and potential, calling for a self-motivated and ambitious technical sales professional, with significant experience of selling technical automation products and solutions to manufacturing companies. Ideally you will automotive sector experience.
You will have strong new business development experience and a proven track record of continually identifying, securing, developing and retaining accountswith the strategic and tactical skills to deliver outstanding commercial results selling technical products and solutions into the dynamic manufacturing sector.
