My client are one of the leading Automotive suppliers in the UK and supply into everyone from JLR & BMW to Aston Martin & Bentley. Part of a group 27,000 employees strong, they have their fingers in 3 of the most lucrative pies around the globe - architecture, automotive and technical. Due to incredible sustained growth, a new Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer is now required to join this skilled and dedicated team.

The successful Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer will have come from a manufacturing background and have strong fault diagnostic experience.

This role will suit a positive, logical thinking and proactive Maintenance Engineer who is interested in pursuing a career with significant involvement in robotic and PLC modifications.

Experience required:

Electrical fault diagnosis experience is essential

Experience working with inverters, contactors, relays, servos, working in control panels and PLC fault finding to input/output level - any higher would be highly advantageous though not required

Strong pneumatic and hydraulic experience, ability to change bearings, chains and conveyors

Formal qualification in Engineering (Apprentice trained/NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds Level 3 - Electrical)

An FMCG or automated background is central for this role

Previous robotic experience would be a distinct advantage - ABB or Kuka

Responsibilities will include:

Electrical fault finding using multi-meter and electrical schematics and control panels alongside some modification/programming work (for which you will receive training)

Online and offline robotic programming (for which you will receive training)

Mechanical repairs to plant - replacing bearings and belts

Installation work on new plant and equipment along with upgrades to machinery

Working a 3 shift system (6-2/2-10/10-6), our client offers a basic salary up to GBP39k DOE plus shift allowance with an OTE of GBP45-8k with benefits including 33 days holiday, annual bonus (minimum GBP1k) and company pension.
