Product & Business Development Manager

My clients headquarters are based in Worcester where all the main functions of the business are located.

Their current product range includes gas and oil boilers, hot water cylinders, renewable technologies such as heat pumps and solar water heating systems, as well as controls and accessories.

They are looking to recruit a Product & Business Development Manager to operate in the New Build property market/ construction market.

Job Description

As the Product & Business Development Manager for the New Build segment, you will lead the organisation in developing, delivering and managing a future-proof product portfolio (hardware, software and services) and are accountable for the co-ordination and delivery of the segment strategy. You will work cross-functionally with business wide stakeholders and the sponsoring Board member (Sales & Marketing Director) in a leadership role to establish and deliver the overall market segment strategy for the business. comprising Price, Product, Placement and Promotion for the New Build segment.
Market Segment Ownership:

Co-ordinate relevant functions to and lead process to define overarching segment strategy comprising Product, Price, Place & Promotion for responsible market segment.
Utilise Value Proposition, Business Model Management & Segmentation tools to develop and secure competitive advantage within your market segment of responsibility.
Product Life-cycle Management:

Development and communication of the UK Residential New Build portfolio and product road maps.
Continuously review the product portfolio performance ensure portfolio remains relevant, giving consideration to price management, market trends, legislation drivers, customer needs & competitors' activities.
Propose and deliver new product concepts based on market insight and commercial need.
??? Market Intelligence:

Competitor analysis and Bench marking, both technical and commercial.
Market & customer research to identify trends, gaps and USP's.
Understand relevant Installation Regulations and Standards for relevant product group.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level in relevant field (e.g. Product Marketing, Engineering) or equivalent, preferable though not essential.
Experience within UK house building or planning sector is key to this role with strong relationships with developers and key stakeholders within this sector essential.
Awareness and understanding of UK energy and emissions policies.
In depth understanding of building energy performance, associated legislation, standards and procedures (e.g. SAP, ErP).
Good grasp of price management techniques, product marketing & business modelling tools
