This is a newly created role and an exciting opportunity to be part of the fast growing Tax Department at the UK's fifth largest Grocer
The successful applicant will assist the Tax Analyst to ensure Aldi remains compliant with all relevant legislation in the UK and Ireland. The role provides a great opportunity to develop knowledge of Corporate Tax and to understand how a large business works.

Responsibilities will include:

• Corporate Tax Compliance - Tax Returns for the UK and Irish entities
• Tax reporting for statutory and management accounts
• Wider Corporate Tax Topics including Transfer Pricing and Capital Allowances
• Continued compliance with Corporate Criminal Offence legislation
• Working closely with colleagues across the business to gather information to complete the corporate tax returns
• Understanding and documenting tax processes and controls
• Making recommendations and implementing improvements to tax processes
• Advising on the impact of changes in legislation and implementing any required changes to maintain compliance
• Maintaining and improving tax compliance and governance both for internal and external requirements including Senior accounting officer and Directors Compliance Statement
• Supporting the business and providing advice as required
• Researching tax topics under the guidance of the Tax Analyst
• Dealing with large volumes of data - managing, analysing and interpreting trends and anomalies
• Support with key relationships e.g. internal colleagues, Tax Authorities and external advisers

Minimum requirements:

• A-levels or equivalent
• 2:1 degree qualification or equivalent (or experience preferably in a tax or accounting role)
• Excellent IT skills and willing to learn new skills e.g. SAP, MS Office, Visio
• Keen interest in analysing data, IT systems and improving processes
• An eagerness to learn and develop knowledge and practical application within a large business
• Positive, can do attitude with a willingness to get stuck in
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Attention to detail and problem solver
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Takes personal responsibility for resolving queries and issues
