Specialist Employment Advisor - 1 year Fixed term contract until October 2020 (with possible further extension)
Working in Stoke and Staffordshire - 18 hours per week
Annual Salary: up to GBP25,000 pro rata (depending on experience and skills)
Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work within a leading Deaf organisation with Investors in People Silver Standard?
Our client provides great training and development opportunities and are looking for people with the right attitude and skills to be part of a growing and dynamic organisation.
They are delivering an employment project in partnership with Ixion/Connecting Choices. They are looking for people to work with their employment team to support Deaf people who are furthest from the labour market, working intensively with individuals, offering exceptional levels of advice, guidance and practical support to overcome barriers and move towards and into sustainable volunteering, education, training or employment.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting Deaf people in an employment or IAG environment. Good knowledge of the barriers facing Deaf people and the ability to collect and record information. Fluency in BSL (native user or a minimum level 2/3) is essential, an assessment of signing will be made to check confidence and ability. The ability to work independently is essential and the post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and two references.
