Our Client

A regional main contractor, who work nationally, that specialises in the commercial interiors, fit out, refurbishment and construction projects are now looking to recruit a permanent Buyer to join their existing procurement team. This regional main contractor turnover GBP35m per annum and work on contracts with values from GBP250k up to GBP5m in the Retail, Commercial, Office, Hotel & Industrial sectors of the industry.

The Role

This role is for Materials, Plant & Sub-Contractor Procurement. It would either suit an experienced buyer or a Quantity Surveyor, who has experience of placing sub-contractor orders and dealing with tough negotiations. Our client want someone who can drive a hard bargain and achieve the best possible price. Knowledge of sub-contractor procurement, experience of buying, a proactive and driven chararacter are all beneficial.

Key Requirements

Placing orders with sub-contractors
Dealing with tough sub-contract negotiations
Placing orders for materials & plant
Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment
Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise efficiency within the business
Buyer experience or quantity surveyor experience.

The candidate

The successful candidate will have the ability to deal with sub-contractors at a professional level and also communicate effectively with senior management and the procurement team. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

The Buyer Package
