Apex Recruitment are recruiting for the position of Production Planner, for an Automotive client based within commutable distance of Herefordshire.

Role: Production Planner

Location: Herefordshire

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: c£35,000

Role:

Establish and maintain SAP and system data including the following:
To receive, analyse and monitor all schedules for a specific range of customers.
To convert these customer requirements into a feasible master production schedule and to monitor the input of this data into the Company ERP system on a weekly basis.
To schedule a set of specific suppliers in line with MRP demands as required.
To liaise with other members of the planning department and to formulate and co-ordinate a weekly production plan for all production areas, taking into account all material availability, capacity constraints and stock holdings.
To monitor the production output against the given plan and to analyse basic failures to achieve the set requirements.
To be aware of general production and technical constraints at all times.
To monitor specific finished stock levels against customer requirements and pre-determined inventory policies, with the aim of keeping the overall stock value to a minimum, but at the same time, ensuring sufficient stock is always available to meet all reasonable customer demands.
To monitor specific raw material and bought out part levels against customer requirements and pre-determined inventory policies, with the aim of keeping the overall stock to a minimum, but at the same time, ensuring sufficient stock is always available to meet all production demands.
To keep all costs to the Company to a minimum, specifically those associated with transport and storage.
To be aware of all other activities currently being progressed within the department and to be in a position to cover the responsibilities of your colleagues in their absence if required.

Access and Input authority as SAP Key User for technical administration
Authorised to liaise internally and externally with stake holders for required data.
Authorised to administrate confidential information - competent to align work standards to confidentiality contract and Data Protection regulations.
To assist in the introduction of any new planning systems and methods as required.
Ensure the validity and accuracy of data
Ensure appropriate procedures and Work Instructions are in place
Ensure job requirements are covered and backup stand ins are trained to a suitable level
Behave in a courteous, respectful and professional manner towards members of staff, managers and customers.
Encourage good communication and working relationships across the business.
Share job knowledge and skills and supporting other team members with their workload.
Ensure processes and data are aligned to accreditation requirements including IATF 16949 (audit support where required)
Competent to manage own workload and prioritisation to achieve activities as required.
Comply with company policy, quality procedures and the Health and Safety Act at all times.
Experience:

Education - GCSE educated (or equivalent)
Experience within a similar role - min 2 years
Experience within relevant M/ERP software systems (SAP essential)
Automotive experience desirable
