IT Technician Apprentice at Macintyre Academies

AVADO are an education provider that works with exciting companies, like DPD, to find their future talent through apprenticeships. This is an IT Infrastructure Technician level 3 apprenticeship role.

An IT Apprentice at Macintyre Academies will report to the School Business Manager/Senior Leadership Team Member on a day to day basis for local IT issues.They will work closely with the outsourced IT provider to assist the Business Manager/SLT with all IT activities within the school in conjunction with the Trust Business Manager for Trust wide IT matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with 3rd party provider to ensure IT compliance across the Trust
  • Learning how to provide technical support Assisting in customer projects and support activities as skills allow
  • Gaining on the job experience and being able to utilize the skills you have gained over the duration of your apprenticeship
  • Helping the existing staff, and the other sub-contractors partnered with, to deliver IT support services to clients
  • Learning how to handle telephone support calls as well as incoming helpdesk emails
  • Managing the helpdesk system, ensuring all calls are handled within appropriate timescales
  • Working on resolving the first line support where capable, and working with more experienced staff to help resolve more complex issues or referring to second/third line support staff where necessary.
  • Updating company systems
  • Office 365 and device troubleshooting
  • To work both independently and as part of a team; competently demonstrating an ability to communicate both in writing and orally at all levels, using a range of tools and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • To demonstrate the necessary skills and behaviours to securely operate across all platforms and areas of responsibilities in line with internal MAT guidance and external legislation.
  • To effectively operatethe remote infrastructure which includes a range of mobile devices and securely add them to a network in accordance with organisations policies and procedures.
  • To effectively record, analyse and communicate data at the appropriate level using the MAT standard tools and processes.To apply structured techniques to common and non-routine problems for effective problem solving, test methodologies, troubleshoot and analyse pr
