Job Description

Role Title:

Development Production Machinist

Reports to:

Chief Project Engineer(CPE)

Department:

Projects - Development/Engineering

Role:

To complete production related tasks as directed by the Chief Project Engineer in line with TS/IATF and Process requirements.
  • To support the CPE with daily tasks as part of the overall development machine plan.
  • Support all process improvement and standardisation activities.
  • Achieve daily, weekly, monthly targets as required by the business
  • Ensure all EH&S requirements are met.

Complete tasks to;
  • Actively participate in the solution of programming issues in a machine environment
  • Can work independently following pre-set direction (From CPE)
  • Ensure that all parts produced are correct to the specification/quality level required.
  • Ensure all process improvements and standards are reported & maintained.
  • To embrace new technology including new software whenever required by the business.
  • To attend training courses as required.
  • Complete & maintain accurate, timely documentation & records as required
  • Maintain the required standards of Health and Safety and housekeeping.
  • Support other teams and functions as required by the business.
  • Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
  • Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by any Director or relevant level authority within the business
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.

Any Deviation from this Role Profile requires Pre- Approval from the Head of Engineering

Person Specification:

Ideally - HND or Apprenticeship trained and/or 3+ Years' Experience in a manufacturing environment

A minimum of 3-5 years' of machining & programming experience on 3 + axis milling machines (Tool Room/Prototype Shop experience required, Volume experience advantageous).

Demonstrated experience with Matsuura Machines and advantage

A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent would be advantageous.

An ability to work under pressure and achieve challenging deadlines.

A 'Can do' attitude.

An ability to demonstrate a flexible working attitude & willingness to progress the role

An ability to take responsibility and accountability for work produced within the team.

Willingness to support changes in hours/role as required by the business
