About us

We pride ourselves on offering individualized, person-centered care to those living with Dementia. Our aim is to enable maximum quality of life with the minimum of restriction.

We are home to 31 residents, our spacious rooms, most of which are en-suite, are tastefully decorated and residents are invited to bring personal items such as ornaments, photographs and small pieces of furniture in order to make them feel truly at home.

Role Outline

Responsible to: Home Manager

Line Manager: Catering Manager
  • To ensure and provide meals, snacks and beverages, that always includes choice as well as the appropriate nutritional density and format, for all residents.
  • To always ensure the highest quality of catering including the taste, texture and presentation of all food.
  • Maintain and ensure full compliance with food hygiene requirements.
  • Maintain and ensure full compliance with all health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure all SFBB paperwork is completed and that cleaning schedules are correctly implemented.
  • To report any problems/concerns to the Catering Manager.
  • To follow instructions or targets set by the Catering Manager.
  • To take charge of the kitchen when the Catering Manager is absent, this includes all aspects of the kitchen.
  • To liaise with the Catering Manager, to include handovers.
  • Understand special dietary requirements of residents.
  • Follow cleaning schedule and ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Supervise and support the Kitchen Assistant.
  • Alternate Weekends - Enhancement of £1 p/h.
  • Early evening finishes.
  • £2 p/h for shifts worked over contracted hours.
