We are recruiting for an exciting new opportunity for a candidate to join a busy digital print room based in Birmingham. This is a Print Room Junior position. Working with your line manager and production team to produce high quality digital print.

Printing leaflets, flyers, postcards, letters, envelopes as well as larger format work such as - posters and folded mailers up to SRA3 would fall in the remit of this position.

All print is run on Xerox laser production printers with Fiery Rips. Full training is supplied on the operation of the machines and software.

The unusual element for a mailing and print company is that this role involves production from start (after proof approval) to finish - you get involved in document composition and setting, sending the job, print minding the work and quality checking.

The benefit of this approach is you are responsible for the entire production of the finished article, rather than being a small cog in the process. Meaning you will gain valuable experience and progress much faster than most Print Room Juniors usually would.

You'll need to be good with your hands, fast and quick to learn. You will need to have great attention to detail and problem-solving skills to be successful within this role as a Print Room Junior.

Job roles & responsibilities:
- To follow all departmental process and procedures
- To pre-flight and prepare supplied jobs to ensure it is print ready using industry standard software
- To operate the Xerox presses, ensuring your work is to brief, spec and colour
- To ensure your work is completed to the highest standards
- To advise senior management of machinery service/maintenance requirements
- To monitor and manage consumables levels, placing orders when required
- Print finishing - being competent on all guillotining equipment
- Ensure your workspace is kept tidy in accordance with health and safety requirement
- Basic offices duties, including filing, scanning and photo copying
Essential qualities include: -

MULTI TASK - you will need to be able to run multiple print machines at the same time.

YES ATTITUDE - whatever the client wants the client can have. YES people are essential to make it work.

EFFICIENT - be able to manage time, meet deadlines.

PROBLEM SOLVER - work out most efficient ways of producing the results needed.

PRIDE - to take pride and responsibility of work produced in terms of quality and accuracy.

RELIABLE - being part of a small team in the print room, punctuality and attendance are imperative.

No experience necessary as full training will be given to help you progress from a Print Room Junior to an experienced Print Room Minder, ability to work flexible hours essential.

Standard working hours are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7am and 8pm. Overtime, weekend and night work is sometimes required.

Good location for car and public transport, on the outskirts of the city centre.
