About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience in the design of full mechanical services systems for Construction projects. Based either in Wolverhampton or Birmingham your work will complement the M&E Design and Project Management teams and you will liaise with clients, architects and other consulting engineers. The role involves carrying out building services condition and dilapidation surveys for various projects across Healthcare, Education and Residential sectors. As well as preparation of reports and consultancy advice on existing systems you will also supervise engineering installation works, conduct site surveys, attend client design team and site meetings and generally deliver a solution focussed service to clients.

About You

Ideally you will be a Chartered Engineer with a degree in Building Services Engineering (or similar) or HNC with appropriate experience. Your indepth experience should include taking technical responsibility and financial accountability for Mechanical Engineering design across a range of projects. Ideally a member of CIBSE, IMechE, ASHRAE, IOR, your skills should include knowledge of thermal modelling and use of IES, Hevacomp, Cymap and AutoCad. Suitable candidates will be self-motivated, possess excellent report writing skills and a detailed level of Mechanical Services design skills. With a track record of working unsupervised you will enjoy bid writing and have an appetite for work winning too. Proven time management skills are important along with the ability to work to deadlines. Experience working in a contracting environment would be useful along with experience in Healthcare, Education and Residential sectors.
