Our client is a global manufacturer based on the outskirts of Pontefract. They are looking for a Project Engineer to work alongside members of the Engineering and Management teams to provide a cost effective and proactive project maintenance and engineering service to the processing and production departments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate project experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

* Originate, develop, coordinate, and control projects from acceptance of feasibility to hand over
* Prepare cost schedules and cash flow
* Liaise with colleagues to understand needs of operational development to ensure
* Keep colleagues fully informed of project objectives, purpose and achievements
* Ensure that health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times
* Initiate health and safety systems with respect to management of contractors, machine guarding, local exhaust ventilation regulations, construction design and management regulations, asbestos management and temporary workers/site visitors
* Contribute to the development of new and existing product / packaging development initiatives
* Attend product development meetings and ensure project plans are feasible and practicable
* Management and upkeep of the asset register
* Contribute to the development of the long term project plan
* Plan activities to accommodate the disposal or sale of redundant machinery
* Obtain plant machinery or systems in order that the manufacturing facilities can be continually improved
* Present recommendations to senior management
* Secure authorisation, and take responsibility for the purchase, delivery and installation of project plant/equipment
* A minimum of an HNC qualification, or equivalent, in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
* Experience working in a high-speed, manufacturing environment
* Experience managing both minor and major CAPEX projects
* Experience of process and packaging engineering
* Knowledge of packaging technology and processes
* Understanding of Health and Safety legislation within the UK and European CE standards
* IT Skills - competent in CAD and MS Project/Excel/Word
