The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Cosford. RAF Museum Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the RAF Museum with all profits gift-aided to the Museum to support its charitable activities. A position has arisen for a resilient and pro-active Estates Manager, the role will report into the Head of Estates. The Cosford based Estates Manager will support the London based Head of Estates in the care, welfare and development of the buildings, land, plant and services. The Estates Manager will additionally bring professional construction expertise to the Estates team acting for the entire Museum Estates
The main responsibilities of the role will be to deal effectively with maintaining buildings, land, mechanical, electrical services and plant in accordance with best practice to meet statutory requirements and approved codes of practice. You will monitor the performance and compliance of all mechanical and electrical maintenance contractors and other contracts as appropriate.
You should have experience of working as an Estates Manager. You must be a professionally qualified Chartered Surveyor, Building Services Engineer or Facilities Manager and have relevant experience in building maintenance, management, refurbishment and M&E building services. It would also be advantageous to have experience in managing a multi-site operation and have knowledge and understanding of all relevant statutory requirements, including planning, listed building and building control processes.
The post will be based in Cosford, Shropshire. Travel between the Museum’s sites may be required from time to time.
