Job Location: Castle Bromwich, West Midlands

Job Type: Long term contract

Salary: Up to £15 per hour (PAYE), £18.50 per hour (LTD / contractors rates)

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday 7am to 4pm with overtime available daily x1.5 & Saturday x1.5 and Sunday x 2

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to work as part of the Maintenance team for a busy Engineering company based in the Castle Bromwich area of Birmingham to undertake planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of Production machinery.

The maintenance team will be reacting to breakdowns as well as planned preventative maintenance within the site. Over the next period of time the factory is undertaking refurbishment of their plant machinery so this will see you stripping down, cleaning out and putting back together the machines as well as maintenance on the machines still running as part of the normal day to day manufacturing process.

Duties will include:
  • Strip down and refurbishment / repair of all plant machinery
  • Ensuring all mechanical and electrical equipment and wiring is serviced and maintained to comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring scheduled services are carried out in a timely and professional manner
  • Attending Breakdowns as and when they occur
  • Leaving machines in a safe and tidy condition
  • Carrying out Fixed Wiring Testing and Repairs as required
  • Undertaking daily machine walk rounds, noting down any required maintenance
  • Undertaking clean down of machines ensuring running safely for Production Operatives
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed for each Task and signed off
  • Communicating with Team Leaders and all other personnel as required

The successful applicant must possess:
  • Good working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
  • Experience of working as a maintenance electrician / technician / engineer within a production / manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Formal electrical qualifications (16th or 17th Edition)
  • A solid working knowledge of electrical production machinery fault diagnosis, repair and servicing.

Due to the business operation we do require any applicants to be flexible on their working hours to maybe cover extra production demands and holiday cover.
