Technical and Development Projects Manager (UK)

Salary: £38,000-£45,000 - depending on experience and skills, OTE 10% bonus with individual and company targets

Hours: Full time

Location: Worcestershire, regular travel within the UK, Ireland and to our European companies and partner suppliers

As a result of extensive growth, Clesse UK has a requirement for a competent Technical Development and Projects Manager with hands-on experience to maintain and refine our existing portfolio.

Once established within the role, there will be heavy focus supporting the internal development and natural progression of our dynamic team and assisting the Commercial Manager in the management of key customers, and developing solutions with a strategic vision based on the direction set by the Managing Director.

The primary purpose of the role is to serve as a multi-disciplined company lead focusing on delivering technical product and design solutions, continual enhancement of internal technical documents, and a strong focus on supporting existing and new business requirements.

Furthermore, you will spearhead new development solutions using our "evolution" strategy by expanding into upstream LPG equipment, natural gas, services and telemetry sectors through-out UK and Ireland.

Duties Include:

Technical, Engineering & Quality
  • Proactively manage all aspects of the technical department, and oversee all technical activities within the organisation
  • Support customers during installations and commissioning of vaporisers, bulk tanks, telemetry and cylinder installations
  • Actively participate in Industry Codes of Practice, reporting relevant implications to the technical & management teams
  • Participate in internal quality control processes, contributing to the development of company quality management systems.
  • Actively participate in the R&D and technical developments, providing complete solutions for customers
  • Build, test and produce reports on prototypes
  • Proactively contribute to the market focused approach to plan, develop and implement new product launch campaigns

Sales & Customer Account Support
  • Maintain and service the technical requirements of a developed customer base through regular independent travel, managing distributor and agent relationships to ensure the highest possible levels of customer service is maintained and developing these accounts to their optimum revenue potential
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by proactively developing new sales opportunities
  • Technically underpin the organisation, and support the Commercial Manager in the account management of top customers
  • Delivering quotations on new business items, coherent with the overall business strategy
  • Represent the company at relevant trade exhibitions
  • Identify, develop and deliver comprehensive internal and customer training using the facilities available at Clesse UK
  • Provide complete monthly sales reports, evaluating results to develop an action plan

The Ideal Candidate:


  • Minimum of 10 years' experience within a relevant industry OR 5 years within the LPG industry
  • Some experience with SolidWorks
  • 3 years' experience within a technical department with involvement in relevant industry standards
  • MS Office proficient
  • Experience of developing products or customer solutions

  • Basic French & Italian beneficial
  • Prince2 Foundation / Practitioner


  • LPG/Gases/ Pressure systems/Oil industry
  • Experience within a manufacturing organisation
  • Ability to work pragmatically with customers and suppliers on a technical level to resolve issues
  • Quality management
  • Computer literate and highly competent in MS Office


  • Hands on ability to resolve customer service issues relating to technical issues and conflicts
  • Clear and effective communication ability, both written and spoken
  • Good understanding of, and commitment to, safe working practices.
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence
