The Pension Administration Business was established in 1993. Our core business is the provision of services to trustees of UK occupational pension schemes DB, DC, CARE, cash balance - and we will do this as a stand-alone "admin-only" appointment or in conjunction with services provided by other Barnett Waddingham Practice Areas. The services are provided from all of our UK offices and include:
  • Benefit administration
  • Pensioner payroll
  • Administration consulting services
  • Scheme governance and trustee secretarial
  • Bespoke one off projects
  • Cash handling and preparing draft accounts
  • PPF assessment administration services
  • Data audits and data cleansing
  • Specialist roles (secondments, expert witness)
  • Support for trustees and in-house personnel

The role

We are looking to find the right person to join our established pension projects team in Bromsgrove. Could it be you?

Some of the duties of the role will include the following;
  • Read, research, and understand Scheme documentation and legislation and translate into a benefit Specification
  • Assist with administration and payroll duties for new client implementations
  • Check work of others to ensure accuracy and compliance with Scheme rules, procedures, and legislation
  • Prepare manual calculations or spreadsheet proforma to test against system generated output
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Pensions Regulator's record keeping requirements and maintain the in-house pension administration database to ensure data quality standards are met
  • Consultancy, project based or committee work as agreed
  • Liaise with authorities including DWP, HMRC, the Pensions Regulator, and the Information Commissioner
  • Ensure that any customer concerns or complaints are processed correctly and raised with appropriate reporting Partners immediately

The person

Are you an experienced pension administrator who is keen develop new skills, deal with more complex work and who enjoys a challenge? Are you driven by client satisfaction and motivated to building and maintain strong relationships both with clients, and with team members?

Do you consider one of your strengths to be time management? Are you confident in challenging the status quo to ensure timescales are adhered to?

What do you need to be considered? You will have a background in either DC or DB pension administration and if you have payroll and accounts experience as well, that would be hugely beneficial.

You will also demonstrate GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in Maths and English and if you have CPA or progress with other relevant PMI qualifications, it would be an advantage.
