Our client is a very successful engineering manufacturing company and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for an experienced electrical engineer to fulfil the position of Electrical / Controls Engineer.

Applicants will be experienced electrical engineers who have good plc programming skills and preferably with a background in high volume engineering or manufacturing industry.

The Role:

Reporting to and working closely with the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for diagnostics, repair and improvements to plc controls on a wide variety of automated and semi-automated machinery in a busy manufacturing plant.

This a site based role where 90% of your time will be spent updating controls and working on improvement projects and 10% will be supporting maintenance.

Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;

Automate and integrate equipment including plc programming.
Design, develop and improvement of automated machinery.
Design, build and install electrical control panels.
Assist with planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and minimise downtime of plant equipment.Candidates:

You will be an experienced electrical engineer with excellent controls capabilities. You will have good plc programming skills. Candidates with Siemens, Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley plc skills will have advantage.

You will have previous control panel and automation experience and you will be comfortable in a role which will mainly be 'hands-on' controls engineering.

Ideally you will have previous work experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Hours of work:

Mon to Fri 40 hours
