Job Type: Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:

The Finance Assistant will work under the direction of the Finance Manager in providing both support and challenge in all financial areas and Organise our company's day-to-day accounting procedures:

Raising purchase orders
Invoice Matching process
Posting all invoices on ZOHO
Creating new suppliers/Customers
Dealing with supplier's/customer's queries
Ageing report analysis
Input Bank transactions
Getting relevant approval and BACS payments
Raising Sales invoices and Credit control
Fixed Assets management and issuing tags
Handling Prepayments
Assisting with implementing and managing controls within the office
Updating relevant spreadsheets for Month end
Expenses analysis for VAT purposes
Job costing analysis- Credit card, Fuel card and Agency staffs
Relevant control account reconciliations
Post relevant journals on to the system
Provide as a cover for Finance Administrator when needed
Assisting Finance Manager to close the month and resolve queries
Assist during Audit preparation
Ensure all month-end tasks allocated by the Finance Manager are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Filing and any other ad hoc duties
Help explore innovative solutions to improve the Finance department, reviewing policies, procedures and the whole Finance system.
Requirements of the Finance Manager:

Minimum of three years' experience in a similar position
AAT Level 3 or similar qualification
Hands-on experience with accounting software and good IT skills
Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy
Capable of prioritising workload
Previous experience of working in a busy environment
Understanding of key financial documents and controls
Good understanding of bookkeeping procedures
Time-management and organisation skills
Solid verbal and written communications skills
You'll be a team player and be happy to pick up responsibilities/participate in projects ad hoc
Flexibility and adaptability to ensure business needs are met, as requested by the Management Team
