New Directions are recruiting for an enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher for a long-term role within a school in the North Shropshire area. Our client are looking for a teacher to cover initially until Christmas however there is a strong possibility that this will be extended beyond this date. The school in question is a small community based high school who offer a family ethos and inclusive environment to its pupils ensuring each pupil has the opportunity to make a contribution to school life. The successful teacher will have access to excellent facilities and the support of a well-established team.

The school are looking for a teacher who is passionate about the subject who are able to produce stimulating and accessible lessons. Any successful applicant will need an excellent knowledge of the curriculum and will ensure they remain abreast of the latest developments in the teaching of the subject and the requirements of the examining boards. You will also need to record the development of all pupils ensuring that the required support is offered in a timely fashion to enable pupils to fulfil their potential, whilst maintaining records to an excellent standard.

The successful applicant would also have access to a range of online and classroom based training through New Directions allowing you to continue your personal development whilst working within the role. Job Specification

If you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or experienced maths teacher we offer roles which include delivering the curriculum in Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possible work at Key Stage 5 (KS5).

As a maths teacher you'll be expected to:

* Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism

* Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment

* Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges

* Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation

* Maintain discipline

* Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development

* Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area

* Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum

* Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening

* Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
