Job Overview:
We have been asked by our client to support them in their search for a Quality Engineer who will have a strong background within either tooling, moulding or plastics manufacturing.
The Role:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for working in a project team to establish and implement systems that ensure products conform to requirements. The Quality Engineer will identify problems, participate in problem investigations, and collaborate to design and implement effective solutions.
Position Purpose:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for working in a project team to establish and implement systems that ensure products conform to requirements. The Quality Engineer will identify problems, participate in problem investigations, and collaborate to design and implement effective solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide Quality Assurance technical expertise in support of the Build department. Identify issues and analyse the cost of poor quality.
* Continually seek to improve processes and manufacturing efficiencies in the build department.
* Analyse manufacturing data to prioritise project work.
* Liaise with the Continual Improvement team at HQ regarding new processes and projects.
* Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering department when required to implement process and equipment changes.
* Communicate improvement activity results - company wide.
* Maintain procedures for documentation of all products.
* Conduct Company training when required.
* Provide data and report quality performance when required.
* Ensure thorough investigation and execution of corrective and preventive actions associated with internal process, vendor, and audit findings.
* Support product transfers and new product introductions.
* Perform internal audits of the Quality System, and support external audits of the Quality System
* Provide assistance as needed to all departments of the company.
* Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
* Continually seek to improve individual performance.
* Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge
* Knowledge of toolmaking, tooling or the injection moulding industry
* Continual Improvement and Mechanical engineering background
* Knowledge of ISO:9001
* Creative problem solving
* Strong business correspondence skills
* Demonstrate sound business judgment
* Ability to work well with all functional work groups within the company / Independent, dependable, resourceful and self motivated
