My Client

A multinational GBP240m group with activities encompassing manufacturing, sales and service that has trebled profitability over the last year and is targeting 20% growth for this financial year. The sales strategy is focused and ambitious with entrepreneurialism encouraged. The people culture is increasingly progressive, and the environment is fast paced and dynamic. The business is part of a $12bn empire that is keen to invest for growth and both encourages and financially supports ideas to drive expansion. Due to growth they are keen to hire an FP&A Manager.

The Opportunity

  • Great exposure to Senior Execs in the UK and worldwide and a genuinely commercial role to understand and communicate what's happening at the sharp end of the business.

  • Clear development prospects within a dynamic and growing international company.

  • Oversee the sales and margin reporting and planning for 10 locations worldwide with sales split being 55% Europe, 30% Americas and 15% Asia (mostly China).

  • Manage a team of 4 people in the UK and overseas, organising and prioritising their workload to address the business needs.

  • Questioning and challenging sites performance data to really understand what's happening and why. Maintain emphasis on sales growth strategies, investing to grow and what ideas and proposals the individual businesses have to develop.

  • Tell the story of the business performance and forecasts to the Executive audience, pre-empting their questions by having the answers ready. Consolidation of reporting and planning/forecasting.

  • Lead calls with Executives to present and explain the results and forecasts.

  • Some foreign travel to address site issues and meet overseas team members.

  • Enhance processes where opportunities exist to enhance reporting efficiency and quality/relevance of storytelling.


  • An experienced, intelligent, commercially-oriented finance professional, ideally used to a dynamic medium to large business. If you only have experience of a single entity, that's fine, we are more interested in your commerciality and your confidence to challenge the sites.

  • Previous people management experience would be helpful, but this role could suit someone taking their first steps up into a management position.

  • Confident and concise communicator able to distil the data and present information in a way that engages the audience, either verbally or in writing.

  • The employer is happy to consider an aspiring person growing into the role, or someone more experienced at Management level.

  • We are looking for a finance professional, but it's not essential that you are fully qualified. The role is more commercial than technical.

  • The Head Office is based in Newtown, but although the majority of your time would be based there, there is the option to work from their other local offices in Telford and Shrewsbury. There would be some international travel, but nothing extensive.
