Our client is a long standing and well-established manufacturing business based in Bridgnorth who are looking to recruit for a Production Manager to lead and manage the production machining of castings.

Responsibilities will include:

* Oversee Machining Operations ensuring al resources (people, machined, tooling and consumables) are available

* Schedule work through the production process to meet customer requirements and ensure that this is effectively communicated through the organisation

* Support new process introduction for techniques, tooling and methodologies

* Support project management teams with resources and reviewing project progress

* Contribute to Quality Improvements by facilitating quality improvements, liaising with internal and external parties to ensure resolution and support

* Manage and develop the production department teams by coaching and mentoring direct reports.

* Oversee the full employee life cycle from recruitment through to performance management, training, appraisals and absence management

* Develop, control and monitor departmental budgets and control the divisional spend

* Take an active part in managing profit and agree pricing and other elements of tendering with clients

* Manage Health, Safety and Environmental Improvements ensuring all activity is carried out with company policy

Skills and Experience

* Proven success in a Production Management role within an automotive machining environment

* Recent experience in a CNC manufacturing environment

* In-depth knowledge of machining processes and an understanding of machining technical drawings

* Either a formal engineering qualification OR significant experience in relevant fields will be considered

* Experience in implementing continuous improvement activities
