About the role We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Finance team as Ledger Assistant , working within the Purchase Ledger department. The successful applicant will enjoy a very varied workload, including processing all supplier invoices, assisting in general Ledgers duties, reconciling supplier statements, preparing weekly BACs runs, plus much more! With strong experience within a Purchase Ledger background, you will be fully conversant with administration procedures and computer packages, including accounting software and Microsoft Word and Excel. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. An ability to work on your own initiative is absolutely essential, as the team is very busy and demanding. Contracts run from March 219 to November 219. About you No formal accounting qualifications are required for this position; however you must have excellent numerical skills, experience of working with Microsoft Excel and a proven ability to learn computerised systems quickly. The ability to maintain motivation when undertaking routine or repetitive tasks will be important, plus exceptional attention to detail and follow through skills to close out jobs. A strong work ethic, and the ability to maintain absolute discretion when dealing with sensitive data will also be key. Hours of work will usually be Monday to Friday, 9. am to 5. pm, but a flexible approach to the demands of the business is essential and you may need to work the occasional weekends/public holidays.
