The two CCGs in Shropshire and Telford are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the Accountable Officer for both of the CCG's during a period of great challenge, change and opportunity.

Shropshire and Telford CCGs are at the forefront of the evolution of clinical commissioning and in the development of integrated care for their populations. Across both CCGs clinical commissioning has been enthusiastically embraced with clinical and managerial skills being harnessed together to meet our challenges with a keen focus on the integration of care around the needs of individuals, their carers, families and communities.

We now see the need to evolve clinical commissioning to form a stronger, more strategic Commissioner that is more widely focused on population health and closely integrated with local authority commissioning functions.

The newly appointed Accountable Officer will be asked to form a single executive team across both CCGs and continue to progress towards the creation of a single strategic commissioning organisation across the whole footprint of Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. This is subject to the continuing approval of our GP memberships and compliance with NHS England's framework and is expected for April 2020. In the event of the creation of a single strategic commissioning organisation, the successful candidate will serve as the new CCGs Accountable Officer.

Our successful candidate will be able to lead the complicated phase of transition towards integrated care and strategic commissioning, whilst continuing to improve each of our CCGs performance. In addition, they will be central to the process of re-envisaging clinical commissioning as a strategic function.

Our Accountable Officer will enjoy not only the beautiful surrounds of Shropshire and Telford but the support of capable and stable teams and the very highest level of support from clinical leaders.

If you believe you can meet the challenges and capitalise on the opportunities to make a difference here in Shropshire and Telford, then we very much look forward to receiving and reviewing your application in due course.
