The company are a groundbreaking manufacturer of biodegradable plastics for packaging applications, they are looking for a Technical Manager to manage and lead their product development team. You will have managed large scale projects and have experience of formulating polymer materials.

Commutable from: Solihull, Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Redditch

Salary: GBP 38,000 p.a. to GBP 50,000 p.a. + Bonus + Pension

The Role

Planning and supervising programmes for research and development and product trials, at laboratories (both APL & External), at customer premises or at the factories globally.
To provide regular reports on project progress to the Executive' and identify any issues and resolutions to meet timescales set
To manage the scaling up of formulations for the production process via plant trials for customers, to inform the technical team of any changes to process parameters and record these changes to ensure quality is maintained during large-scale production (in conjunction with the Research Chemist/other technical & production staff)
Ensuring that the process trials in all locations operate in accordance with health and safety or other quality procedures as set out by the company/customer and in line with current legislation
Monitoring and reporting of plant processing performance to customers to enable improvements to their SOPs as necessary to support the effective use of products into the supply chain
To conduct customer support visits on a regular basis to offer ongoing support on new products and deal with queries and problems to meet customer needs

The Candidate

BSc/ Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
Experience in similar role
Previous customer management experience/skills
Able to demonstrate analysis and reporting skills in a commercial environment
Technical or technical transfer experience
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Microsoft Office
Project or programme management experience
