My client are a industry leading business in the UK and are the biggest in their respective sector. They are a forward thinking business with a beautiful head office based over in Solihull. My client are looking for an enthusiastic,Assistant Tax Accountant with a passion for driving efficiency and a keen interest in understanding and communicating performance.

Working as an Assistant Tax Accountant within our Finance team you will take ownership of reviewing Journals at month end process for the entirety of the department. This provides an excellent opportunity to have a genuine impact on the shape of the organisation going forwards, influencing management decisions and challenging both current and future performance expectations.

Completing Balance sheet reconciliations for tax accounts
Completing VAT returns, aggregates levy, landfill tax,CIS, Intrastats, EC Sales and tied Oil returns accurately and to deadline
Building relationships both internally and externally
Performing tasks associated with the preparation and posting of transactions into the general ledger
Following policy, procedures and processes, ensuring controls are followed and high levels of accuracy are delivered
Following the month end timetable and delivering the month end close on time
Supporting the team leaders and other team members within the wider team
Taking ownership for queries and driving through resolution of issues
Proactively seeks and implements changes to improve accuracy, efficiency and control in processes

You must have excellent IT skills ideally experience using SAP and balance sheet reconciliations and used to handling large amounts of data. You also must with experience of working at a large company/SSC.
