Apprentice Chemistry Technician

My client is a well-established chemical/manufacturing business based in Stafford. They are looking to hire a Apprentice Chemistry Technician to join their R&D team. As the Apprentice Chemistry Technic you will produce laboratory samples of new formulations for evaluation and supporting the Development Chemist and Technical Manager. The Apprentice Chemistry Technician will hold an A Level or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or closely related subject.

Apprentice Chemistry Technician Responsibilities and Duties:

* To comply with Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and other such regulations as set down.

* To produce laboratory samples of new formulations for evaluation using designated laboratory mixing equipment.

* Testing & evaluation of solvented adhesives, sealants & newly developed products.

* Technical support for other departments in all relevant areas of quality and process development as may be required.

* To provide assistance and support for the marketing & sales team as required.

* To provide clear concise reports both oral and written in support of the project work.

* Organising and controlling of test work as agreed with your Manager.

* Ensuring testing is carried out to the correct protocols whether to Test procedures, externally agreed specifications or recognised national / international standards. Reporting and / or communication of test results in written and or verbal form.

* Keep and maintain a comprehensive filing system on all project work.

* Maintain a clean laboratory workplace in accordance with Laboratory procedures.

* Work in a safe manner following all Laboratory procedures, maintaining MSDS sheets of raw materials & undertaking a COSHH assessment in conjunction with your Manager as required.

Apprentice Chemistry Technician Experience required:

* An 'A' level or equivalent in Chemistry or closely related subject.

* The job holder must have good communication skills and be

* Competent in the use of IT.

* An awareness and understanding of the Laboratory environment.

* The role requires a self-starter, able to work on own initiative, work to deadlines and meet targets.

* GLP and COSHH experience is desirable

Hours: Mon-Fri, Full time permanent with study time
