Our market leading financial service client is looking for a talented and driven IT Category Manager to join their existing and growing team to support within the IT business area specifically picking up on hardware and software. As an IT Category Buyer, stakeholder engagement and management will be essential, working with Head of level. Role:
The IT category manager will support end to end supply chain activities across IT categories. You will identifying effective procurement solutions; endeavour to reduce risk, and deliver value for money solutions.
  • The IT category manager will have proven delivery of category management procurement experience
  • Excellent ability to plan, negotiate in order to ensure value for money is delivered
  • You will support IT function with annual budget reporting, building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Supplier relationship management is essential
  • You will provide accurate and timely reporting to IT senior management and Head of Procurement & SRM
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring other functions regarding best practice procurement

Knowledge and experience:
  • Proven experience of negotiating contracts up to £5m annual value
  • Proven experience of a complex, multi supplier environment across multiple IT subcategories (Hardware, Software)
  • You will be an expert in category management,
  • Experience of tender procurement practice and processes
  • Proven negotiator
  • Highly competent in supplier selection and evaluation
  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experienced in leading and delivering change
  • Ability to multi task
  • MCIPS qualified (required)
  • Degree qualified (required)
  • Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Oracle experience (desirable)
  • Experience with E-Procurement, Sourcing & Contracts systems
