Head of Projects and FM job opportunity in Birmingham
Working with an organisation based in Birmingham, you will be responsible for providing technical direction, programming and project planning, and advising on all building, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering works. The role will include overseeing delivery of soft FM, managing external suppliers, and direct supervision of a 7 person team of Surveyors and Administrative Officers.
You will ultimately be responsible for ensuring the estate remains legal and compliant with current legislation, that it is maintained to good standard, and that development, improvements and new-build projects are delivered to time, cost and quality. The incumbent will deal with a range of stakeholders, from individual units through to senior staff in the single service front line.
Key responsibilities:
* Derive and execute an annual planned maintenance and repair programme
* Programme and project manage new works, improvements and building replacement.
* Lead and line manage a team of 7, consisting of Surveyors and Admin staff
* Work closely with customers and stakeholders age relationships with major regional employers in support of Defence objectives.
* Oversee the provision of soft FM across the estate.
* Ensure safety, health, environment and fire regulations compliance
* Act as member of the association senior management team
* Membership of the RICS - Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, or similar professional qualifications (e.g. CIOB) in the provision of estate and construction is highly desirable. Working towards qualification if not held.
* Track record of project management experience in estates/infrastructure and (ideally) an appropriate PM qualification.
* Experience in property management for maintenance and refurb/new build
* Highly IT literate with experience of an estates management information system
* Conversant with current H&S legislation
* A credible and confident leader/line manager and communicator with the ability to engage with senior people across corporate, public, political and military sectors.
* A team player and a self-starter; Organised, articulate, honest, reliable, committed and with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. Values orientated and outcome focused.
The post is for 37 hours per week. In addition there is a generous defined benefits pension scheme, up to 30 days annual leave, TOIL and a flexi scheme. A suitable company car will be provided and dedicated free on-site parking is provided
