Our client has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and solution-focused Substance Misuse Worker to join their Children and Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service in Warwickshire.
Our client provides countywide support for children and young adults who are at an increased vulnerability to misusing substances or have been affected by another's substance use. They are passionate about making a real difference to individuals and improving health outcomes in local areas.

Location: Warwickshire
Salary: GBP21,228 - GBP25,117 per annum
Duration: Full Time, 37 hours per week

About the role:
As Youth Substance Misuse Worker You will operate on an outreach basis, delivering the service within co-locations including schools, YJS, youth clubs, Social Care and family and community hubs.
You will hold a generic caseload of young people presenting with, or affected by another's substance misuse, offering a holistic service with an accessible no wrong door approach. You will also take part in the Duty System, providing telephone support for professionals, young people, parents and carers and managing the text messaging service. This may include evening and weekend working.
About you:
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Hold a relevant qualification in substance misuse / youth work / psychology / counselling
  • Have experience of working with at risk / vulnerable young people in a community setting
  • Be able to deliver behaviour change support, including group work
  • Be knowledgeable about: safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity, contraception, STI's, and risk taking behaviours
  • Adopt a flexible approach to work - hours and locations
